BAD BREATH 'BB'



There are many causes of Bad breath, but we would discuss the common cause of BB.
The common cause of BB is poor oral hygiene, bacteria build up between the teeth as well as the tongue and gum, this produces unpleasant smelling gases resulting to tooth/gum decay.

Listed below are further causes of BB
1. Xerostomia: this is dryness of the mouth which occurs when the flow of saliva decreases. If you notice when you shut your mouth for so long without talking or during fasting BB becomes the order of the day, so always engage your mouth. I don't mean become a talkative... *smile*
2. Smoking: freshly smoked cigarettes lingers in the lungs for hours, hence the stale scent, however that's the beginning as the chemical in tobacco can remain in the mouth for long... Aside from bad breath this is harmful to the health even federal ministry of health warns.
3. Alcohol consumption
4. Spicy food such as onion...

In conclusion causes of chronic BB includes smoking, eating spicy food regularly, alcohol and having dry mouth.

The best treatment for bad breath is regular brushing, flossing and hydration.
